Two decades in acquisition, most of it for veterans
Harry Seballos is a Senior Contract Specialist with Stafford Consulting Company (SCC), supporting VA Network Contracting Office 22 in Long Beach, California. He handles pre-award documentation, post-award modifications, and contract closeout for VA healthcare acquisitions across VISN 22, and serves as the team's designated trainer for new specialists.
From 2011 to 2022 he worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs at the same contracting office as a Senior Contract Specialist (1102) with a Level II warrant. He ran acquisitions from requirement to closeout for construction, services, and commodities, including Electronic Health Record Modernization infrastructure upgrades valued at $22.5 million in Greater Los Angeles and $9.2 million in Long Beach.
His leadership foundation came from 30 years in the U.S. Air Force. He retired as a Chief Master Sergeant (E9), the highest enlisted grade, after serving as senior advisor to commanders and chiefs of staff and leading organizations of up to 1,400 military and civilian personnel across operations, contracting, human resources, and information technology.
Harry holds two master's degrees from Webster University and a bachelor's degree, cum laude, from Chapman University, and is pursuing a Doctor of Strategic Leadership at Liberty University. In Las Vegas he serves on his homeowners association board and mentors veterans moving into civilian contracting careers.
Why the VA work matters to him
Every contract Harry managed at the VA supported a place where veterans receive care: medical centers, the Fisher Houses where families stay during treatment, and the infrastructure behind electronic health records.
After 30 years in uniform, he spent the next phase of his career making sure those facilities were built, upgraded, and maintained on budget and within the rules.
